This dress was made in order to wear at the opening night of Plymouth College Of Art's Summer Show. It is based on the pattern of one of my favourite dresses, which I chose because it is a simple design and fits me well.

I really love the idea of sewing and making my own clothes. I learnt to sew over a year ago now, and whilst I have made my fair share of pencil cases, I haven't really attempted anything more complicated (except make up bags), and I really want to push myself. It is also so wonderful seeing my patterns come alive on something I am wearing!

Plus I'm totally inspired by the Sewing Bee!

This dress is made from Lycra, bought at Bags Of Love. Cutting the pattern out from an existing garment was pretty challenging, as it left most of it to guess work!

I didnt actually sew this one, as it was for my Summer Show, I couldn't risk messing it up, so my Grandmother and Mother did the sewing for this, but I am totally excited to be attempting my next make!
